(( we were talking for a while and then the subject came ip about girlfriends and boyfriends. My friend Karli wanted to know if he had had a GF before, and he said yes. I told him I ha never had a boyfriend, never Been on a first date, and never kissed a boy. He said he thought that was sad, and he told me I needed to find someone. I told him I already like someone. So for the longest time he asks me who it is. He was really persistent and I told him a MILLION times that I would not tell him. So I tell him also that my friend, and his friend Matthew knows. So he even goes as far as to ask Matthew. Then he started promising me he wouldn't tell anyone. Then hestarted to promise that he'd be there for me the whole way, that he would help me and be there for me if anything went wrong. I told him that he was making promises without even knowing who I liked when it could very well be someone he hated. He said he'd keep it anyways. So he continues to try and get me to tell him, so finally I say that it's not hard to find out, because I'm a newbie at this stuff and it's probably obvious how much I like him. He doesn't know so I told him I'd give him exactly one hint and one guess. If he guessed it right then I'd either say yes or leave because I'm embarassed. So I tell him that I've known this guy for exactly four years. And that's like... Two boys that he knows. Himself and my friend Matthew. (but I'm not sure if he knows that about Matthew) and I also tell him that it's only possibly two people in the world. Then he guesses right. :c I told him he was right then said goodbye in the same sentence because I was scared and he said goodnight to me, then put a heart at the end right when I left. I have NO idea what that means but I'm still freaking out and I swear I cried and my cheeks were so hot I thought I was sick with fever or something. I don't know how I can face him on Monday, or talk to him at all I'm so embarassed... D: I feel like such a dork. I am going to sleep now and hopefully not waking up until whenever. GOODNIGHT ;~; ))

"Anyways." Rune said, shrugging. "Do you want to-" He was stopped when Wren's yell came from the house. She was standing in the doorway, holding that nasty cat of hers, her brown hair piled up into an untidy bun on her head. She looked adorable, if only her personality was much more similar. There was a phone on her shoulder, pressed to her ear and she was having a hard time keeping it there. "Rune!" she yelled. She could already picture the other person at the end of the line cringing from her yell. "Sable's on the goddamned line and my neck hurts! Get your ass here!" Rune rolled his eyes at Sol. "She could've said please. I have to run. Drop by sometime, will you? Everyone needs a breather from Wren." he grinned and ran off, back to the house.

"New team schedule?" Leo asked. Aislinn never had practice these days. Aislinn nodded. "We have our first competition in a few weeks." Aislinn smiled at Regan. "Hey, Regan," she went over behind Leo, and rested her hands on the back of his chair. "Do you guys need help today with chores?" she asked kindly. "I've got a swim meet and then I can come back after and help."
Leo shrugged. "Dunno, whatddya think, Regan?" He turned to the Aurora coven leader.

Regan curled her feet up on the couch to hold her knees against her, her face resting innocently on top as she looked at Leo. In honesty she looked at him and realized one of the very things that she found herself thinking of most of her coven members, she didn't know them. Sure she knew his name, and could probably rattle off his age and birth date if she dug through her mind. But that wasn't because she'd sat down to get to know him ask him these things it was because she was the leader of the coven he was in. She knew his name and birth date because the government was starting to press down on files try to get their backgrounds, another thing she was trying to fight. Everyday it seemed they were trying to gather more and more about them.
But as she looked at him now she him offering her pick of music, offering to help, picking up her paint brushes she wondered how long she'd been doing things alone. How long since she'd really had a friend. The thought however was depressing so she pushed it away planting her feet on the ground happy for Aislinn's arrival it gave her time to actually think about what music she might want to be played while they did chores.
She smiled at Aislinn as she entered but it was a far away smile that showed her mind was only half way in the conversation, a polite jester nothing more. A jester that she was starting to realize more and more how common it was for her. "Hey," she replied. "Help is always welcome but don't feel obligated to rush back, have fun." In honesty she kind of realized how motherly that could've came out but she didn't dwell on it. She wanted Aislinn to have fun with her swim meets and practices she seemed to but one of the few that was actually taking an interest in Rhyolite and getting active and she wanted to embrace that as much as possible. If that meant more work for her than fine in was worth it at this point.

Aislinn smiled, grabbing her towel and car keys. "I'll help if you guys are still at it when I get back. I should only be an hour and a half or so!" she replied, getting her shoes on. Regan could be really sweet, but sometimes Aislinn felt Regan was so busy worrying about everything else to really have fun. It wasn't a bad thing, and Regan had a good reason to worry, being the coven leader and all. Aislinn put her thoughts to rest, and gave Leo a kiss on the forehead before hurrying out the door. Bear huffed, clearly frustrated he couldn't follow her to the swim meet. He padded over to Leo, licking his hand. Leo patted Bear on the head before getting up out of the chair. He clapped his hands, and looked down at Regan with his blue eyes. "What's first for chores then?" he asked, smiling. "And would you like me to pick the music, or would you like to?"

"James!"
James jerked up to attention, the voice ripping through his thoughts. It was his boss. "James, you never told me you were going on vacation this weekend." James rose an eyebrow, looking quizzically at his boss. "Sure, I did." he replied dryly, packing all of his cleaning supplies into the plastic bucket.
It was a slow afternoon, and James was not in a good mood. He bussed all the tables that he was assigned to, plus another half of them, since he was covering for a co-worker. The lazy sun poured in the windows of the sandwich shop, casting a dreary shadow across the tiled floor. James walked into the back kitchen where people were cooking delicious smelling food. His boss followed, prattling on and on about how one of these days, James was going to get himself fired and his boss was not going to show any mercy. James just blocked him out, resuming his work. Not a good day.

It was after the shift, and James was in a black mood. He grabbed his car keys, stamping his time card, and walking out to the parking lot. He got into his car and sat there, taking a deep breath. James frowned at the steering wheel. He was not looking forward to this conversation. What was he going to tell her? I guess I'll just have to see what happens. He tore out of the parking lot and went to the place he knew she was going to be. The park, drawing as usual. James got his temper under control, and slowed down to the speed limit. He pulled up to the park and went to the place where Sol first finished his picture and profile. There were surprisingly hardly any people in the park. Good, James thought. He walked up behind the bench where Sol was. "Hello, there." he said, arms crossed over his chest.

Sol was busily drawing the park landscape when a familiar voice came from behind her. Sol's head turned and her face lit up, much like a child's at christmas. But wait. Something was wrong. His tone was... off. His body language had his arms crossed over his chest. Sol suddenly felt sick. Her stomach was churning. What was all this? The stiff, unfriendly tone and his arms crossed over his chest.
Sol seemed to become meek and she clutched her sketchbook between her two hands. Her once beautiful bright smile vanished. "James..." She stood up, setting her sketchbook aside and she leaned on the bench and touched his shoulder. He was tense. She frowned a little, "is something wrong? What happened?" she asked.

James smoothly stepped away from her touch, as if it was an iron brand. Suddenly he felt sick as well, and inwardly sighed. Sol didn't deserve this. No one deserved anger from something that wasn't their fault. There was a silence as he tried to figure out the best way of telling her he knew about her. It wasn't the thing one said on a normal basis - Oh, hey there, how's it going? By the way I know your a vampire. No, that wouldn't do.
Finally, he sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Sol, when someone gets close to a person, it's normal to keep things that are personal to you close to your heart. But if that person were... say, oh, I don't know..." he looked back at her, emerald eyes hard. "a vampire." he practically spit the word out. "then it would be wise for you to keep your distance from a human." It sounded cruel, but James was never one to be soft and shield the blow when a situation was like this. Sure, when he saw that the person was stressed, and at their breaking point, he gave them space and comforted them when needed. But not like this. Never like this.

Sol probably would have much rather he told her flat out that he knew instead of acting like this. When he basically spit the word at her like she was trash she felt a strong blow to her heart. Sol's hands trembled and the sketchbook that she was holding fell to the ground. Her eyes lowered away from his, and tears filled to it's maximum capacity.
Once they reached that point, the tears began to overflow and stain her cheeks. She sniffled some, and looked much like a beaten child would. "I'm sorry..." Was all she could say. Her voice took a deep dip to show she was shaken, afraid, and sad. She held her hands together over her chest as if her heart hurt, which it did.
"How did you find out?" She asked, her voice again dipping. She wiped her eyes the best she could but they were refilled by more. A passerby would see these two and immediately wonder, what was that boy doing to that sweet looking girl? Why was that fragile looking child crying?
Sol never thought this would happen. Her plan was to have the best relationship possible with someone she really loved, and she would never turn them into a vampire for her own selfish reasons. She would keep them human, and love them no matter how old they got. That was what she wanted. Sol never expected James, of all people to come up to her and treat her like... like crap. To treat her as if she were some nasty cockroach that needed to be rid of.
No... why would James treat her like this? He... a weekend ago he said he loved her, he kissed her and held her close, smiled at her and treated her like... like his /girlfriend/. And now, here he was seemingly tossing her aside because she was a vampire. A leech. Sol hated herself. She suddenly hated what she was and what she had become. She had become a vampire and now someone she loved hated her, because she was a vampire. Sol choked on her breath and continued crying. Why?

Great. Now she was crying. James immediately regretted his words. Well, not his words. Just the way he said them. But there was no turning back now. He took a breath. Sol was a person too. She had the mind of a normal teenage girl, she looked like a teenage girl, and she still was the same Sol that James had fallen in love with. She now just was a vampire. And it occurred to James that none of the coven vampires probably chose to be what they were. Other vampires who lost their control had probably bitten them. James took another deep breath, and pushed his anger down, way down.
He opened his eyes, now looking at Sol with gentle, but firm eyes. "I found out-" James froze. Now, what was he supposed to tell her? Well, here goes his cover. Hopefully the government wasn't keeping too close a watch on all the hunters. "-because I'm a vampire hunter." He said quietly, sitting down with her. He didn't put his arm around her. He didn't even look at her, staring ahead, not to avoid her eyes, but because he didn't like to talk about his mother. He just felt it necessary now. He didn't really know why. "The government hired me because my mother was The Rose. I don't know if you've heard of her, but she was the one whose MO was sprinkling rose petals over her victims. She was ruthless when killing, but she was a great mother. I never knew about her until I got thrown into this job because my mother and sister went missing."
He trailed off, and finally fixed his green gaze on Sol.

Sol sniffled, leaving her sketchbook laying there on the ground. Miraculously, it had opened up to the picture of James with her name signed at the bottom with a heart. She had her head in her hands now, crying softly. "I'm sorry..." she whispered again and again.
It wasn't until he told her he was a hunter that she stopped saying 'I'm sorry'. So he was a hunter right? There to kill her and her friends. That was how he was able to get rid of that newborn so easily. "So what?" Sol's voice shook with anger overpowered by sadness. "You're only here to kill vampires? or keep us leeches in line?" She sobbed as she spoke, making her words difficult to say. "None of us ever /wanted/ to be vampires." she said softly. "Some vampire attacked me while I was ice skating once and that was it for me."
Sol was wiping away her tears which were immediately refueled. "I wanted to be come an artist James. I wanted to go to school and get a job, I wanted to fall in love and have children...." Sol shook as she thought of this. "I can't become a famous artist because I'm immortal. I can't get a real job forever because I'm immortal. I can't have children because I'm dead, and I can't fall in love because so far, every man I've loved has either left me or basically spit in my face." Sol was by no means yelling this. She was ranting, quietly and sadly telling James all this.
"My friends, Kolian was on a walk alone when she was attacked. She had parents who didn't care for her accomplishments and she found love in another vampire. Her life has gotten better because she is able to live longer and able to defend herself. I should be so lucky to find someone to love me for me." Sol had calmed down, but tears still stained her delicate cheeks.
"There's Matthew, who had a wonderful life. He loved living and he loved his life. He fell in love in high school then someone beat and mugged him and bit him. Now he is immortal and more miserable than I'd like to see him." Sol wiped her cheeks free of tears for a moment as her eyes watered up again. "I never chose to be like this. I fell in love with you, James because you were so kind to me, because you had saved me from death and because you loved me for how I was. Now that you know I'm a vampire you don't want me anymore, do you?" Sol's voice rose at these last words because she knew it was probably true, because the pain was overwhelming. "no one loves me apparently. My own mother beat me while my dad sat back and watched. My first love had been a fake and then a month ago my last boyfriend just up and leaves me alone. Now the one person I almost thought was perfect is leaving me too. Just because I'm a stupid leech." Sol clutched them hem of her skirt, refusing to look at James. "I loved, and still love you James..." her voice was really quiet. "But if you want to leave me you might as well kill me. That's what you're all about right? vampire hunters..." Sol's head whipped around as she said 'kill me'. She looked at him with her sad blue green eyes and her tearstained face. No one would be able to look at her in all her sadness and anger and not feel sad themselves. Maybe Rune, maybe Lionel, but not many could look at her and not feel bad.
Sol was tearing up inside. It felt like he had just taken her heart to play and thrown it away because he was tired of her. Because she was the very thing he was supposed to kill.

James was quiet during her rant. When he'd gotten home after the vacation, such a vacation as it was, James locked himself in his room, going throughly over the files that he'd tossed across the room. He'd recognized some of the vampires that were at school. Until he was sure he'd covered everything, he refused to come out, and even had to block the doors with a board. His father had banged on his door, and his maids had had to get someone to climb in the window to see if James was alright.
It wasn't until Sol said 'leech' that his eyes flared up angrily and he grabbed her shoulders. His touch was gentle, but firm. "Don't you ever call yourself that again. Don't you dare." He growled, eyes flashing. He realized what he was doing, and let her go. "Sorry," he muttered, withdrawing his hands. He sighed, and looked back up at Sol, pain in his eyes. "Sol," he said, seriously, looking into her eyes. "If I had to chose to kill me or you, without a doubt, I'd stab myself without hesitation." James paused, and struggled to find his words. "Before I met you... I hated vampires. With a passion, possibly even more than the government. But when I met you, you showed me that all vampires, especially newborns," he looked at her. "aren't bad. You guys keep a low profile, and you aren't like the enraged newborns. I gained a kind of a new respect for vampires like yourself. You can't help what you are." James reached out a hand, gentle this time and tilted Sol's chin up, making her look at him. His gaze was gentle. Anyone passing by could see the fight happening, but they would also see the pain it was causing James to say what he had to say.
Although James shielded his inner thoughts from people, it was so easy for one to see he still loved her. He so wanted her to understand, trying to make it right. "...but what I'm hired to do is kill off the ones that could be a potential danger to you, to your friends who are vampires and to humans. I'm hired to prevent what happened to you guys, from happening to humans." he spoke softly. "I'm not here to kill you. I'm not here to kill your friends. I'm not here to openly tell everyone about vampires or here to hate you, Sol. The government placed me here because of my defense skills and my hunting skills. But for me, right now? I'm here to prevent newborns from killing anyone else." he paused in his talking to look away, gazing at the setting sun. It cast a blood red haze over the sky. James picked up her sketchbook, and closed it, placing it in between them. He turned back to Sol, and he reached up, wiping her tears away with his thumb. "Is that so wrong?" he asked softly.

Sol fought hard to keep her mouth shut as she listened to James. She wanted to tackle him to the ground and hug him and beg him to stay with her. She could already see what was coming up. When he took her shoulders in his hand she gasped softly, almost as if she were afraid he'd hurt her. But he didn't. He told her not to call herself a leech. She sniffled some and when he put the sketchbook between them she could feel him trying to tear their bond apart.
She saw how much he still loved her, so why was he doing this? Oh right, he was a human, he was a hunter. She knew this day would have to come, but a week after they had started dating? Why? She looked down at the sketchbook and was silent. He stared out into the sunset and she stared at the sketchbook, then her eyes wandered over to his hand. She wanted to take his hand and hear him tell her things would be okay, that he would still love her and be with her, but she knew what had to happen.
"No... it's not bad." she said softly, "But it hurts so much." She closed her eyes "You don't want to love me anymore." she stated simply. "You're a hunter, so you shouldn't be with a vampire." she refrained from hatefully calling herself a leech. "You still love me... I think... but you can't be with me, huh?" The pain in her voice was evident.
