Fern was perched in a tree somewhere in the courtyard. She had been cutting classes today. After her first class, she had vanished and no one seemed to miss her. Earlier that day she had told Cecil that she wasn't coming to school, but after he left, so did she. Right now, she was currently texting him, telling him that she was in school. She looked up and she could see students spilling out into the courtyard, looking forward to their own activities. She pressed 'send' and her text was on its way. She grinned inwardly as she thought of Cecil's disapproving frown when he saw her message. And that was exactly what he did five minutes later.

Fern sighed and dangled her legs, looking down and at the same time, stored her pink Sony into her pocket. She rolled her eyes when she saw girls pulling out iPhones and began texting. 'Iphones.' she thought, snorting. 'I love my Sony.' But her mind and heart didn't want an argument about a Sony and an Iphone. Instead, it kept shoving rejection into her face, mocking her; taunting her; sneering at her. Of course she had felt better when she had returned home from Seoul, but she half wished that she should have stayed there and never came back. Fern slapped herself inwardly. She was being selfish, and she knew that if she never came back, she would be running away from her troubles.

Screw this shit. she thought harshly, feeling a sudden wave of anger bubbling up into her and she hastily pushed it away, not wanting to start a rampage at the moment; especially not in school. She had been avoiding everyone; she had no idea why, but she felt better that way.

((Oh, no it is. XDD I'm kinda scared of the dark and being alone in my house at night now haha))

Lionel had a habit for not closing and locking his window when he napped. He always left it open, because Rune always made a fuss if he had it locked or even closed. There was one time when Rune kept throwing fruit at the window, soon managing to break it and hopped in. It costed Lionel a little money for repairs and soon enough he always made sure to leave the window open if Rune came a-calling.

Unfortunately, he had inherited those genes and attitude from his eldest sister, Wren. She knew that she couldn't come through the front door; she was sure that Lionel's girlfriend Kolian would kick her out immediately and although Wren wouldn't mind staying and arguing and possibly ening up in a catfight, going through Lionel's window was loads easier. She climbed up the tree easily and soon leaped into the now currently napping Lionel's room. She grinned at the sight of her old friend sleeping. He didn't realize that he looked really handsome when he was sleeping and Wren grinned when she remembered her falling for him last time. But as usual, it was just a small crush and like all others, faded away.

Like Rune, she had a nasty habit of kicking to wake them up and that was what she did to Lionel. Her foot swung repeatedly, kicking the bed and soon jolting Lionel awake. Instead of turning over and giving the kicker a good punch, he opened his eyes and allowed Wren to continue kicking until he huffed grumpily.

"Shit, Lasseur." he growled grumpily, his back to her. He knew who it was; Wren or Rune. It was either those two. Like brother, like sister. And they both had the same surname, although Rune changed his a long time ago, but the name stuck. "What do you want now?"

"Get your ass out of bed, Lionel." Wren rolled her eyes and Lionel couldn't help rolling his as well. Like brother, like sister. She'll probably kill me if I say that though. he thought dryly. And Kolian's going to freak if she finds out that Wren's in the house. And in my room. "Get out of here, Wren." Lionel snorted."Kolian will freak if she finds out that you're here." Wren snorted. "Ah, come on Lionel. Liven up a bit. I'll be leaving in a few days time, and you still haven't updated me."

Lionel sighed. She sure was stubborn."Fine. I don't want any more crappy trouble. You caused enough already. I'll see you outside, but we're not going anywhere." Wren smirked, winked and said "Fine" before hopping out the window. Lionel snorted, rolled his eyes and went outside, slamming the door to his room loudly before going down the stairs. He frowned when he heard voices in the living room and he peeked in grumpily, but he didn't enter the room.

"Blackwood, Grace, little vampire, hello." he grunted.

Kolian smiled softly and shook her head. "I'd never leave Lionel." she said softly, smiling to herself. "He really does mean the world to me, and it feels like he's the whole reason I'm still alive." she said softly. She looked up at Stephen and laughed, but the laugh was nervous and shy. She smiled though, and gave him a bright one. "I'd never leave completely either." she said. "not after it has taken you this long to find me." she grinned. 
She nudged him gently and smiled. Stephen was crazy. "let's put it this way, I don't think I can see the possibility of breaking up." she said, then rolled her eyes a little. He was silly. Sometimes Stephen could over think things, when really it was just that simple. She didn't mind in the least though. He was Stephen and she loved him either way. 
When Lionel poked his head in Kolian smiled and stood. "Lionel." she walked over a bit, stopping part way tirades the door. "where are you going?" she asked. It was obvious, just by the way she looked at him that she loved him. That, if her heart beat it would beat every day just for him. He was her world and he meant everything to her. If she lost him, no telling what this little vampire could come up with to satisfy the pain from loosing her world. 

Oh shit, I shouldn't have popped in. Crap. Lionel thought and he tilted his head to one side as Kolian walked over to him. He couldn't help smiling softly when he saw her. She was his life. His little vampire. His light. He didn't want to see her face twisting up in pain or anger or jealousy like she did when she met Wren. He also didn't want to hear her sweet, cheerful voice to become dark and cold as well. Lionel briefly considered telling her that he was going out for a walk, but he knew her well; she would want to follow and if she found out that he had lied to her, well Lionel hated lying so lying was definitely out.

"Wren's here." he rolled his eyes. "She wants me to update her since she'll be gone in a few days. She's waiting outside for me." After that rather rude awakening from his nap, updating Wren Lasseur was the last thing that he wanted to do, but he knew that if he didn't, she would never stop bugging him for it.

That bright hopeful smile on Kolian's face faltered and faded a bit when Lionel told her Wren was there. "oh." Kolian looked at her feet as a look of disappointment and a slightly heartbroken expression crossed her face. It was brief, though and she lifted her head to smile at him. "Okay. I'll let you two talk." she rocked back and forth on her feet. 
"I'll stay in here with Stephen." the last thing she wanted to do was to see Wren's face. She wanted to go with Lionel, but to risk seeing that girl again... No. Kolian continued to smile at Lionel before she turned, walked back to stephen, and sat down beside him again. 
She waited for Lionel to leave before she leaned her head on Stephen's shoulder, he smile instantly gone. She had a straight face as she laid her head on his shoulder. Such a meaningless expression meant only one thing - she was sad. And when she was sad, it was time for Stephen the therapist. 
"Wren is Rune's older sister" Kolian started. "she probably lives in a different coven, but for whatever reason she's here in Rhyolite." kolian looked at her feet. "she's friends with Lionel and I don't like her. She has this look on her face when she knows she's making me mad, and she just looks so amused when I get upset. She looked like she was going to steal Lionel from me but Rune said that it was okay, that she wouldn't do that because if she did she would have done more than just tease me." 
Kolian swung her feet a little. "I still don't like her. She makes me mad and she makes me cry." kolian muttered, upset with herself for letting such a girl get to her like that. 

Shiiit. Lionel of course noticed the sad expression on her face and he almost aborted his meeting with Wren, but he knew that he had to do this. He left the room and he opened the front door, expecting Wren to jump up and grumble "You're late" but what he saw left him standing in the doorway, frowning. Wren's back was to him; her arms were folded across her chest and standing across from her was no doubt her youngest brother; Rune. It was obvious that Lionel had walked in at a bad time. The two of them were glaring daggers at each other and soon enough, they will be yelling and their famous catfight will break out. Lionel held his tongue...and waited.

"I thought you were dead." Rune said flatly, his voice cold. "I thought that when you and Sable left the both of you got married to someone or something and lived happy ever after while I was kicked out of the house due to that stupid pneumonia. I didn't even get a letter let alone a postcard from you or Sable. "

Wren shrugged. "Well, you thought wrong, little brother. I don't know how you got turned as well; probably someone took sympathy on you when you were dying; but I. Really. Don't. Care. You got turned; you left; the others got KOed by your disease and the end. I came down to see you after all these years and all I get in return is a cold shoulder, you brat."

Wren's words struck home in Rune. When he next spoke, his voice was rising and he already sounded completely pissed off. "Shut up! You could at have least sent me a postcard telling me that you're alive when you heard that I was turned. I don't know how you knew that I got turned as well but I had to deal with guilt for the past six hundred damn years thinking that I had wiped out the entire family and that you two were dead as well and I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to you. You even dared faked your own deaths. How do you think I felt when I heard the news? You're nothing but a liar and a bitch, Wren!" He was shouting now and they were now attracting a crowd.

Wren's temper snapped. She flared up. "We're doing this in the park." she snarled, her blue eyes flickering over to the crowd.

Lionel had been standing there, frozen and he realized that he had left the door open. The whole of Lyons had probably heard the shouting match that was going on outside and the fight that was soon going to take place after.
