James kept his jaw clenched as Sol removed the gravel. He was expecting it. He didn't expect the sting of the peroxide. James let out a shout of surprise. "Bloody hell!" he hissed, not at Sol, but at the pain.
She was an excellent healer, with a feather light touch, but the wounds were screaming in protest against the peroxide. His knuckles were white as he gripped the edge of the bed. The coldness of the peroxide mixed with the seemingly warm touch of her fingers surprised him. He closed his eyes, breathing deeply, concentrating on not lashing out, pushing her hands away. He never liked anyone fussing over him.
He slowly relaxed as the searing pain drifted into a dull ache.
"You got any family around here, Sol?" he said, doing his best not to squirm in pain. It was light conversation, as James was trying to distract himself from jerking away from the healing process.

Sol's eyes widened as he shouted aloud. She hadn't expected him to scream, but then she realized that he wasn't used to the sting of the peroxide like she was. "I'm so sorry." she said softly, "I should have told you." she said, feeling bad that she had not told him in the first place. She continued to clean the peroxide away and she looked at the back of his head. Family.
"No." she replied quietly. "My mother and father died from different types of cancer not too long ago." she said. She treated herself as if she was really 17 instead of 70 something. She pulled out the bandages and leaned close to him as Aimee had done to Quill. She slid the bandages around him and started to bandage him up. Some of her hair that had fallen out of the ponytail fell forward and touched James's shoulder - the uninjured one.
"How about you?" she returned the question back to him. Her voice was softer and her cheeks were nearly radiating heat. Since she was leaning so close, she figured she had no need to talk any louder than she was now. Sol secretly wished she could walk around and look at his front. He must be gorgeous. She laughed inwardly. Oh the thoughts of a normal teenage girl.

James looked straight ahead, shrugging off her apology. A warning would have been nice, but it was over. He listened to her, and looked over his shoulder, his eyes meeting with hers. "Im sorry." he said sincerely. "That must have been tough."
He turned back around to face the wall. Her hair tickled his shoulder lightly as she leaned close.
Honestly, this girl was pushing his limit of control. Like any other 17 year old, James was beginning to feel like he was with a high school crush. Sol was a beautiful girl, obviously oblivious to how attractive she was. Her breath tickled his ear.
"Just my father." James answered shortly. It was as if he was talking about a king rather than a personal relationship between father and son. "My mother and sister are either dead or missing." this, he said with great sadness, his voice clipped. "Sorry, it's a bit of a sensitive topic. It kind of sounds like it for you too." he said, deciding not to question it very much, and fell silent. He wondered when she would be done.

((P.S do all the hunters know all the vampires names and identities? If so, James just threw his files aside and didn't look through it--he only looked at his fellow hunters. XD))

(( XDD aww James<3 They know All of the Lyons members, because Lyons was created by the government. x3 But Merrill and Aurora, they know only the leaders and maybe one or two other members. ))

Sol's cheeks turned a deep shade of red as he turned so that their eyes met. Any close and she could've kissed him. She imagined her heart hammering in her chest so hard he could hear it. She shook her head when he said that it must have been tough. "For my father it was... but when my mom died..." Sol paused, "I was... honestly kind of relieved." she whispered, sounded ashamed of herself.
She nodded her head a little bit when he said his mother and sister were either dead or missing. She didn't question any further and pulled back, wrapping the bandage over his injured shoulder. She finished bandaging him up and smiled. "there... I hope it feels better." she said. She realized for a moment how warm he was... with fresh blood pumping though his veins. No, she couldn't bite him. She wouldn't bite James for the world. He was... special to her at the moment. Sol turned to the sink they had and washed her hands. She dried them off then walked back over to James.
He smelled sweet too. She didn't quite know what it was, but it was sweet, and she liked it. "Let's go." she said and smiled a little at him. She quickly, before they left, took out the pink bow in her hair and let her long beautiful hair hang over her shoulders. She brushed through it with her hand a few times and then pulled it back again to tie the ribbon around her hair by her neck to turn it into a ponytail again. She did that so she could get the strands out of her face.
"Do you go to school here?" she asked, looking at him.

((Okies, then we'll just say James didn't really look through his files XDD he smells like apples =D. James loves apples haha and strawberry ice cream

"Thanks a bunch." James stood up, and turned to face her ((XDD)) looking at her quizzically. "You were relieved?" he asked, studying her with a piercing green gaze. What kind of parents did she have if she was relieved when her mother died? James risked stretching a bit. He rose his eyebrows in surprise. She'd bandaged him up properly. She'd put butterfly bandages and everything over the deep cuts so they would heal, and wrapped bandages to hold everything in place. Everything felt tight and comfortable. He rolled his uninjured shoulder, seeing how that felt. Great. He slowly bent down out of sight to retrieve a new shirt from his overnight bag. It was a white wife beater which he pulled on, then pulled on a plaid tailored white shirt and left it unbuttoned. He lifted his bag up, testing his strength.
James would be so lucky that lifting everything took all the muscles in his back, which he now had to rest. He sighed. That would make a big hole in his paycheck. Nevermind, though he'd just pull some money out of the bank. It would be alright. He looked at Sol. He found himself thinking she looked pretty both ways with her hair up and down, but he strangely preferred her hair down. It framed her face better, making her eyes stand out like the milky way in the night sky. Holy shit, James, get a freaking grip. James inwardly shook himself. What was he thinking?

Sol's breath caught in her throat when he turned to look at her. She imagined herself fainting like those old movies. She looked at him, and it took her a few moments to recollect herself. She looked away, blushing madly, so much so that someone could possibly ask, 'Do you have a fever?' She nodded her head slowly. "Yes, relieved." she said softly. "My mother used to beat me. She would go off and get drunk, then come home and overreact to the smallest things." She shook her head once. "That's all in the past now." she said.
She shyly watched as he dressed himself and she looked away again, the blush dimming a bit. He was so attractive. Did he know that? He looked amazing and he looked as if he didn't even know it. His eyes were amazing too. The piercing green gaze was stunning to her. Once he finished she took his hand and led him out of the little makeshift hospital. When their hands touched, her fingers tingled and joy surged up her arm and filled her whole body. She felt dizzy with joy.
Apples. He smelled like apples.

((I know, I enjoy torturing Sol and James right now XDD))

James furrowed his eyebrows when she looked away. She was blushing? James realized with a jolt that it was because of him, and he suddenly wanted to burst out laughing. He would have if she hadn't said her mother used to beat her. His eyes narrowed, and he inwardly hissed. Strangely he felt very protective of Sol, which confused him greatly. "Your mother used to beat you?" he scowled, but she seemed like she didn't want to talk, so he silenced himself.
He felt the heat fill his face as Sol took his hand. It was a faint blush, but it was definitely there on his face. Her hand was surprisingly warm. He allowed himself to be led out of the small hospital, quickly catching up with her. It wasn't like when Aimee grabbed his hand and jerked him out of the hospital, and James laughed, noticing the great difference between the way Sol led him out and Aimee led him out. It was amusing.

Sol didn't respond when he said, 'Your mother used to beat you?' She'd already established that her mother did. On top of that, her mother made her clean the house, and cook when Sol was very young. It had never been plesant and her mother had always been displeased with everything she did.
Sol was very gentle compared to Aimee. She couldn't hurt a fly unless she needed to, and James was someone she definately didn't want to hurt. Once they were out of the hospital, Sol let out a soft sigh. She was holding her sketchbook and she let go of his hand reluctantly to toy with the spine. "You said you'd let me finish the drawing...?" she asked softly, her cheeks turning a bit pink to match the bow and tube top that she wore.
She smiled a little and looked at her feet shyly. She remembered going to college for art. She had to draw nude models before, and James was definately not going to be nude. How come she felt so embarassed asking him to model then? She laughed inwardly. Maybe it was because of his attractive body and face. She continued to pull at the spine of her sketchbook shyly.

James noticed her silence, and sighed inwardly. Alright, no touching that subject. Consider lesson learned.
He laughed when she asked if she could finish her drawing of him. He nodded and looked around. "Uh, where should I sit?" James asked. He'd never intentionally been a model, and felt a bit awkward at the moment. He led her to the nearby park, and sat down on a bench. It was partially in the shade and partially in the sun. The rays of sunlight slanted over his face, and strangely enough, mostly just his eyes, which made them glint every time he moved. "I've never really been a model before. Do I just sit?" he asked, looking around. He looked extremely lost to come across such a simple task.

((Ewww, short.))

Sol smiled at James, feeling a bit excited as he agreed. "That's perfect." She said, looking at him. She set her sketch book down beside him and touched him gently to raise his arm, or turn his head slightly. She paused at one point, her hand on his cheek as the sunlight shone down into his eyes and made them glint like emeralds. She wasted a minute staring at his eyes, almost speechless. "You have beautiful eyes." she whispered suddenly, then her eyes widened as well when she realized what she said.
Sol blushed and took her hand away from his cheek. She picked up her sketchbook. "Okay, stay like that for just a few minutes..." she said, still looking quite embarrassed. She sat down across from him, on the ground so that she could get the same perspective. Soon she was sketching and shading again. It didn't take long for her to finish that drawing, and when she was done, she quickly came to sit beside him. She flipped the page and started to sketch out his profile. She had a small bag of colored pencils hooked onto her sketchbook. She would reach for those later. For now, she needed the basic sketch.

"You have beautiful eyes."
James looked at her, an unreadable expression on his face. It sounded odd, but only his sister had said that. Rashel had been so disappointed she'd inherited their father's eyes. Peter had slate ice grey eyes, while Nikola had eyes like emerald green gems flecked with silver. James' gave a handsome crooked smile. "Thank you, so do you." He said, before going stone still while she sketched.
He thought she was done when she got up, so he moved out of his position, but she came over and started sketching his profile, so he sat up straight and stared ahead. "How long have you been drawing, Sol?" he asked. He couldn't draw a whit. James had sharp, legible handwriting, but that was his extent of drawing. He could draw a fair sketch, but nothing life-like, and certainly nothing that compared to Sol's drawings. Her pictures were amazing, almost lifelike. She'd have to give him a copy of them when she was finished.

"I honestly couldn't care what Wren Lasseur thinks or decides." Lionel snorted, rolling his eyes. "I just said that to test her, although I really shouldn't have bothered. Any boy or girl that are cuddled up together would immediately be a couple in her book. Well, we are together so..." Lionel turned slightly red and turned away from her to look out the window. The subject of love and him being together with Kolian was a little touchy for him and he still found it embarrassing. Lionel knew that he had a bad mouth and he didn't exactly have a way with words. So did Rune. And because of this, the both of them always ended up in trouble. Especially with women. Women. Lionel thought dryly. One wrong word and you already have a problem.

Sol smiled. She didn't seem to mind that he had moved a bit. She finished the profile sketch then got out her color pencils. She started to color his skin first, using different colors to blend so that she got the perfect tone. Sol smiled when he asked her how long had she been drawing. 70 years. She thought to herself, "Ever since I was little." she explained. "I mean, you start off drawing stick figures in kindergarten, and when you realize you have talent you push yourself to do more." she said.
She paused a moment in her drawing and touched his chin gently so that she could move his head up a bit. The sunlight glinted on his eyes perfectly and she went back to coloring. She then picked up her black and started to color his hair, making sure to make it perfect.
It didn't take long for her to finish that, then she soon picked out her green colored pencil, as well as the white. It would replace the silver since the sunlight was doing wonders with his eyes. She carefully colored his eyes. She wanted to remember them like they were without taking a digital picture. She was careful to make his eyes perfect, and she did. She looked at it and smiled a little before coloring in a bit of the background. once that was through, Sol picked up her pencil and shaded in the shadows so they were more defined.
"Want to see it? I'm done." she said, finishing up with one last pencil stroke. She signed her name at the bottom and wrote his name. She never wrote the date on any of her paintings or drawings. she never kept anything with dates, just in case.

Kolian nodded slowly as if she understood. That was okay. She wrapped her arms around him and looked up at his expression. He was embarrassed. She kissed his cheek delicately and sighed softly. "I'm sorry I doubted you." she said quietly. She continued to hug him, her head leaning against his chest now. "But... Wren is so much more beautiful than I could ever be and she... I don't know... forget I said anything." Kolian said quietly and buried her face into his chest again.

XDD ohyes. This'll be SO intresting. XDDD ))

James smiled. "Yeah, that's true." he said, thinking about it. That had happened to him too. "When I was 9 my butler startled me and I freaked. I took him down in about 5 seconds. He immediately recognized something, and trained me in martial arts." he shrugged. "It's a hobby, but it's good for self defense, as you have previously witnessed." he chuckled, before taking the sketch pad. He first looked at the one of him across the street. It was remarkable, with the shading just perfect, and every muscle, every crease in his clothes, every shadow, every detail defined. He marveled at it, and turned his eyes toward Sol, flipping the page.
His own emerald green eyes flashed at him from the page. She'd gotten everything right, from the faint but noticeable scar across his face, and his gold earring winking at the viewer from the page. "Wow. Sol, that's incredible! You're so talented." He said. "Could you make me copies?" he looked at her, a smile on his face, his eyes shining. He looked back at the profile and laughed. "I look so bad ass." he joked, handing her back the sketch book.

Sol smiled at him and laughed when he told her he had taken down his butler with martial arts. "That's amazing." she said, still laughing some. "I'm glad you knew martial arts back there... otherwise I would've been dead." she admitted, a soft smile on her lips. She let him look at the drawings and she was pleased with his reaction. She folded her hands in front of her in her lap and smiled brightly. "You really like it that much?" she asked. For some reason she felt excited to have his approval. She had just met him, why should his approval matter so much to her?
She looked surprised when he asked for a copy. "I have a scanner. I could copy and print these for you." she said and smiled. "then I'll give them to you at school tomorrow." she suggested. She looked over at picture of his profile and laughed when he commented on it. "You look inspiring." she said and looked up at him. "I would even go as far to say you're my muse." she smiled at him then put her pencils away. She zipped up the pencil bag and closed the sketchbook. "Anyone with beautiful or strange eyes, or even weird hair is inspiring." she said, "Different people carry different looks and I love to draw them." she said. She remembered her sketch of Rune that she had done, bent over his DS. She smiled at the thought.
