Roleplay

Stephen grinned when Sol blushed, as her hands flew up to her mouth. Her reaction was a very subtle one. Kolian usually just hit him lightly and stuck her tongue out. Either that or she leapt on to his back like the little monkey she was. Stephen wondered how Kolian was. He was worried about her. An injury like that to any human would take years of physical therapy and practice, though the thought calmed him to know that Kolian was a vampire, and she would heal quickly.
Stephen was deep into his thoughts when he realized that Sol had skated away from him. He sighed, resigned and stuffed his hands into his pockets. Time. Time is the only reliable source of medicine. Stephen pushed off with his skates after Sol, taking his time. When he finally got to her, he took his hand out of his pocket and took her small hand in his. Not to show everyone, or to make anyone think she was his girl friend. Just a friend comforting another friend in times of need. He stayed silent, not pushing her to talk, and not looking at her. No pressure at all.
He slipped something into her hand when he put her hand in his. A small butterfly charm. It was a beautiful thing, with the wings shimmering gold blue and pink. Two small diamonds were at the end of the antennas. They glinted in the light like winking stars. "I found it on the ground a couple days ago. I meant to give it to Kolian to get better, but you look like you need it more than she does." Stephen said gently, still not looking at her. "Whenever you want to talk, don't hesitate to ask."

Sol looked down at their hands when he took her's, and she didn't stop herself from letting her thumb rub affectionately against his hand. The moment he slipped the charm into her hand, she quietly looked it over with much interest. It was, in fact, very beautiful. She liked the blue and pink wings the most, and the diamonds on the antennas was certainly something to look at. However, she couldn't help but wonder who had lost it.
She looked up at Stephen and then slipped the charm into her pocket, to show she accepted the small gift. She then took his hand once again and continued to rub her thumb against his hand affectionately. "Thank you, Stephen." she whispered softly. Her eyes flickered up to meet his, almost shamefully, but with understanding. She was pleased to know they shared an understanding now, so that they wouldn't have misconceptions about one another.
She was quiet for a longer time, and she just skated while she held his hand. She didn't know what else to say. What else /was/ there to say? When she thought of nothing, she kept her mouth shut.

Stephen would be sad for once and he would be the client instead of the therapist! XDD ))

*rubs hands together* Time to stir things up. ))

Stephen nodded at Sol, looking at her now. He smiled gently. "Of course. Anytime." he said. She had such lovely eyes, though they were so sad. He would have loved to see them happy and shining. Stephen sighed, and continued skating. It would have been such a contented and calm silence, though Stephen looked up sharply as though hearing something. He looked to the side and his eyes widened. Right behind the wall. A pair of bloodshot red eyes, evil and glinting.
"MOVE!" was all Stephen could get out before he tackled Sol to the ice, not caring about being gentle, though she was a vampire, so it wouldn't hurt a lot. He made it just before the wall behind them exploded, sending bits of rock and dust everywhere. Rocks pelted them on the ground, though Stephen was practically on top of Sol, not caring about being courteous either. He was a rock climber, he could handle the harsh blows that would even give vampires bruises.
The screams of the small girls taking the class echoed through the hall. Stephen looked up before blinking and seeing the savage group of 3 newborns rain out over the ice. No, not the kids. They were too young to be turned. Stephen leapt up, slipping over the ice and gravel, but he easily took Sol up with him. "C'mon, we have to help those little girls." he said urgently, coughing as dust whirled down his throat.

Sol gasped as she was tackled down against the ice. The cold ice stung her skin but Stephen's warm body rivaled it. She clung to him, burying her face in his shirt as the rocks pelted them. She was trembling slightly, much because of the fear of what might happen next. Much to her surprise, Stephen pulled her to her feet immediately and requested she'd help save the children. Anything, for the children. She wouldn't ever let those vampires harm the kids, or even turn them into what could possibly be the worst event in their life.
Sol was skating forward before she knew it, and she had the upper-hand when it came to the vampire newborns. They didn't have skates on, and they couldn't skate. They were clumsy, but still very fast even though they slipped a lot. To Sol's surprise, she had distracted the three easily so that most of the rink was empty. She attacked. She would have liked to use her fangs to sink into them, but that would give herself away. The blades on her skates would have to do. She spun - distracting one male newborn - then leapt on him and pinned him to the ground. She didn't know what much to do after that, and she was afraid.
She sat up on his torso so he couldn't move, then looked desperately around. She couldn't kill him for her life. She looked down at him. He was a handsome teenager, and the color drained from her face when she recognized him as someone who went to their school. Poor guy... "Stephen!" she looked around frantically and her eyes landed on him. She couldn't kill this boy. He struggled under her but she kept him down easily. She couldn't kill him, she wouldn't. SOmeone else had to.

Stephen meanwhile had easily scooped two or three terrified girls up in his arms and had ran as fast as he possibly could without giving away his in-human abilities and took them into the lobby. "Get out of the rink. Are your parents here?" he glanced hurriedly up at the clock on the wall. The hour was nearly over, and the parents should be picking them up about then. The girls cried their replies of yes. Stephen nodded. "Don't trust anyone except your parents, then, do you understand?"
The three nodded before scampering out, screaming for their parents. Stephen wished he could help them but he dashed back in and brought out three more, repeating the same process over until the whole class was out and away from danger.
Stephen bolted into the destroyed rink, looking around for Sol.
"Stephen!"
Stephen looked around. Dust was everywhere, layering a thick coat all around them. It was in the air, thick as pea soup. "Sol!" he managed to cough out loudly, spotting her pinning a vampire down. Stephen recognized that boy. He was from school. It was a shock to him that he knew the boy, making Stephen let his guard down, which cost him dearly. A guttural snarl echoed to his side, right before a newborn threw Stephen into the wall. He hit the wall, growling in pain before he launched himself at the newborn, holding him down. "Now we can play this nicely, because I don't want to kill you," Stephen said quietly. "Leave and go find another place to ruin, preferably one where you don't kill innocent children or an unsuspecting public. It's not nice, and it won't help your hunger. Trust me. GO." He said the last word forcefully, before loosening his hold and tossing the newborn out the window. The newborn snarled with a ferocity that put tigers roars to shame. Then he ran. Stephen watched him, his back turned to the window.
The boy under Sol fell silent, then twisted under her, swiping a clawed hand across her chest, snarling before leaping up and running. "Sol!"
The other three newborns launched themselves at Stephen, clubbing him across the head before leaping away as well. Stephen's eyes widened before he crumpled in a heap on the ice.

Aislinn nodded. "Trust me, they had a field day trying to figure that one out, though In the end the prankster had to start the ball rolling to get the word out that there was no goat number 2." Aislinn raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Have we a heartbreaker on our hands here?" she looked at Sable. He was indeed handsome, no doubt making any girl's knees weak at the sight of him. His smile had sure disarmed Aislinn. That would be amusing to see if her whole team would be fawning over Sable within thirty seconds of seeing him. No doubt they would. It was true, Wren got a lot of attention from boys at school as well. A few of her guy friends had a crush on her, though Aislinn knew Wren wasn't the type to fall head over heels for a guy. At the thought of it, neither was Aislinn, though Sable was making an impression on her. She nodded her thanks at Sable's comment. "Thanks." she said, a light tint of pink flushing her cheeks. It was barely noticeable, though and only lasted a fraction of a second before Aislinn shook it off her, returning to her normal friendly and open expression. "How long are you going to be staying?" Aislinn smirked. "The girls at school always love long distance relationships. They say it's so romantic." she rolled her eyes.

Grace jumped violently when Fern burst in, but laughed when she saw the poor lizard on the girls head. She held her hands up in defense, slapping Matthew on the chest. "He did it first!" she said, watching as the two volleyed the poor lizard back and forth. Grace laughed when Matthew stood in front of her protectively. Peeking over his shoulder, she spotted something out of the corner of her eye. A white fluffy ear, soon followed by sea blue eyes and a mischievous gaze. The white cat was crouched in a hunched hunters pose.
"Um...." Grace pointed at Fern's head in warning. To late. It pounced.
Quite remarkably high for a cat, but in one graceful movement, it landed on top of Fern's head. With a meow it swiped at the lizard in Fern's hand. Grace blinked before bursting into laughter. For such a small girl, Grace had a loud voice, therefore a loud laugh which echoed through the house. She clutched her sides. The cat glared at her reproachfully, as if saying 'My food!'

"We have to tell the others before something else stupid happens." Rune said in a black voice, getting off her and knowing that she wasn't going to run again. "Whether he's dead or not at this moment is something we'll never know now. Come on, let's go. There's nothing more we can do for him now." His bicolored eyes scanned the area once again, looking for signs of blood or whatever but upon finding nothing, he let out a long sigh of defeat and in frustration, punched a tree, leaving a hole in it. Splinters immediately found its way into his hand but Rune simply pulled each of them out one by one and ignoring the pain that it caused him.

((Kolian's hell begins here. O_O))

"Huh? No." Sable shook his head. "I wouldn't call myself that." He didn't say anything else, but he flushed a little, turning away from them and focusing his attention on the scenery outside. Wren smirked as she watched her brother. He always did this when he was embarrassed. Sable got attracted attention everywhere that he went. He turned back to them upon hearing Aislinn's question and he shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe a week or two or a month before I start feeling homesick for Italy again." he grinned. "I disapprove of long-distance relationships though." he added, raising an eyebrow. "Part of the reason why I never got myself involved in one again. I'd like to make it clear to them that I love traveling and that I don't always keep in touch." He paused for a while before changing the subject and looking directly at his sister. "Wren. I'm hungry." He enjoyed his sister's reaction whenever he said those three words. She looked outraged. "I'm not your goddamned servant, Sable! Hunting is illegal, so you're gonna have to make do with chilled ones." Sable snorted. "I know. And it tastes like crap. I don't know how you lot survive on this shit." he snorted, allowing Wren to drag him towards the kitchen. "Don't get left behind, Aislinn!" he called over his shoulder cheerily.

Fern's screech was so loud until it almost cracked the window of the bathroom. "Cat~!" she yelled, scampering out of the bathroom immediately, Casper still on her head. "Get him off! Get him off meee!" she wailed, shaking her head to and fro like a dog and in her rush, crashed into the wall face first, causing her to fall and dislodge the white fluffy thing from her head. "Finally!" she huffed, laying on the floor, her arms and legs spread out wide; starfish style when a huge bump formed its way on her head.

Aislinn nodded. She thought of talking Leo into taking her to Italy. It sounded like a wonderful idea, she almost let Wren and Sable to go talk to Leo, but she realized that could wait. She laughed with an amused look at the two siblings. It seemed that Sable was the one who pushed the buttons while Wren provided the hilarious reactions.
Aislinn laughed, though it all disappeared when Sable called out to her. "Don't get left behind, Aislinn!"
She suddenly wasn't there in Rhyolite, California. She was back home, with her loving mother kissing her on the forehead when she was just a small girl. Her mother said "Ill never leave. Don't worry love."
And then her mother was gone. In her place a horrible woman with the same face as her mother, leaving her father with Aislinn and Leo and their siblings. It damn near killed all of the Carver siblings, since now all their parents did were argue and hit each other. Her once loving parents were gone, leaving her with two monsters as guardians, kicking and abusing, ridiculing and spitting crass words in their childrens faces.
Aislinn stayed frozen, remembering everything. All the peace she had gotten was when she was in the water. Water muted everything above on land and left Aislinn in a quiet, beautiful and peaceful place.
Aislinn nodded, only a small smile left on her face. "Trust me...it wouldn't be the first time I've gotten left behind." she said softly. She looked down at Bear who was looking longingly at Sable and Wren. Bear turned his gaze up to Aislinn, just as a small tear rolled down her cheek. She bent down petting Bear, who licked off the only tear rolling down her cheek. "Merci," she said quietly, and stood back up. The bright smile appeared back on her face, though was heavily subdued. She followed them back into the kitchen. "Well, its not all that bad. If you heat it up, it's better."

Wren didn't see Aislinn's face; she had been looking frontwards, but Sable did and he had heard her words. His face fell when he saw hers and he turned away, not saying anything else. I must've said something. he thought as Wren passed him a blood packet and barked. "What's with you all of a sudden?" She rapped his head. "Hmm?" Sable said, smiling. "Oh, nothing significant." he shrugged and glanced up when Aislinn said that heating up the blood is better. He shrugged. "Well, better hot than cold." he passed the packet to Wren who dumped three of them into the microwave and heated it up. While waiting, Wren sat on a chair and remarked. "Rune hasn't been here since you came." Sable raised an eyebrow at her. "He can take care of himself. You should know that. He's probably with Lionel now as we speak." Of course neither of them knew that Lionel had been kidnapped by a group of newborns and Rune was now in the woods with Kolian as they spoke. "You know, this gives me such a nostalgic feeling." Sable suddenly said, taking a glass from the counter and pouring his now heated blood into it. "It's as if I'm sitting here with all my friends and siblings back in Paris, drinking tea and laughing our asses off. It's as if nothing had ever happened six hundred years ago. It's as if Rune never fell sick and was still the cheerful person that we once knew. But we all can't run away from our pasts can't we?" His handsome face turned dark and silent, as he took a trip back through time. Even Wren never knew the full story of Sable's past but she guessed that it was a dark thing since he was always reluctant to talk about it.

Aislinn reached up and took a small porcelain white tea cup and saucer out of the cupboard above the sink. It was her favorite with gold leaf designs laid into the sides. Aislinn ripped open her packet of heated blood and poured it in. She lifted it up, listening to Sable.
All the vampires here had such dark pasts, it never surprised Aislinn to hear a sad story once in a while, but for some reason, she was surprised to hear a darkness in Sables voice that wasn't there before. Sable seemed like such a laid back and calm guy, without a care in the world. But of course Aislinn didn't know she came off to other people that way as well. She was no longer mad at her parents-100years for her was a long time to hold a grudge-but still, that didn't stop her from crying to Leo once in a while. No body knew, and Leo would never tell, but Aislinn was not a girl who liked to be alone, especially in the dark. She was independent in her own self, but she always had someone with her, which most of the time it was Bear.
Aislinn held her teacup up. "Well it's not Paris, or the Taj Mahal, but cheers." she drank from her teacup, tasting it. "I hope they don't put HIV in it again." she said calmly. "That wasn't fun."

Sable nodded and glanced down in the swirling red of the glass of blood. He closed his eyes and he could hear the screams already. Screams of the innocent as he killed them. He didn't mean to do it; he had to, for his family. But indulging in his past was the last thing he wanted so it was a sudden surprise to Wren when he suddenly shook his head to himself. It was as though he was trying to shake off something that kept traumatizing and torturing him. "Sable..." Wren began when Sable suddenly downed his glass in one gulp and smiled again. "Well, HIV or not, this one's empty." he said, passing the empty glass towards Wren who placed it into the sink. He glanced at his watch and chirped. "It's getting late. I have to run. I'll see the both of you in the morning." "Wait-" Wren barked but he was already gone in a speed even Wren found herself abnormal. The front door could be heard clicking shut behind him. "Huh." Wren huffed, washing the glasses. "Pretty exit."

Aislinn stopped mid sip when Sable suddenly left. She narrowed her eyes. That was the quickest getaway she'd seen in many a day. Aislinn put her cup down on the saucer in her hand, and looked after Sable. "Is he alright?" she asked, her clear blue eyes narrowing in suspicion. "Call me out if I'm jumping to conclusions, but that didn't seem like a casual or pretty exit if you ask me."
She half debated whether to go after him, though she hardly knew him so she figured that might be a bit weird. Aislinn put her cup down on the counter, and hoisted herself up onto it. 

Wren was silent as she put the glasses away and dried her hands. "As you can see just now, my brother is not what he seems." she said quietly. "Unlike most of us here who have already moved on, his own past traumatizes and torments him. He went through hell before he even found and turned me. I won't say anymore but it would be wise not to go after him." She didn't say anymore after that.

Aislinn looked after Sable before getting down from the counter. She drained her tea and put it in the sink. "Very well." she said, not pushing the subject. For Aislinn, she'd moved on, but her past still haunted her as well. She wouldn't be surprised if many felt the same way. Aislinn nodded and sighed, leaning against the counter. Bear came trotting in, and gave a quiet woof, nuzzling up to Aislinn. She petted him absentmindedly, staring off into space.
Maybe that's why Sable traveled so much. To keep moving and to push the thoughts away, while also loving the arts. Aislinn knee that's what she did with being in the ocean. It was her therapy so to speak, and her mind got too clouded sometimes, an impossible buzzing ringing in her ears so she would take a swim. The creatures in the sea loved her, and swam up to her, the fishes kissing her cheeks and the small turtles nibbling at her toes.
She knew she was psychoanalyzing the situation, but when she and leo were left to care for their siblings, it was Aislinn's job to be the mother figure and harbor a much needed intuition. Now that she didn't need to look after her siblings anymore....they were all killed....it was now merely instinct for her to break the scene down and try to fix it.
Aislinn looked outside. It was raining and getting dark out. The dull sky and the pitter patter of rain on the windows calmed Aislinn. It made her want to step outside and stand in it. She hadn't gone to the pool all day, and was dying to get some fresh air on the beach.
Aislinn sighed, as Bear left her side and trotted after Sable. He was not getting any attention from Aislinn right now. She was too distracted.
Bear walked out onto the porch, looking up at the rain, his tail slowly swishing from side to side. He looked like he was debating to go out into the rain or not.

((Haha it's alright, Sunny. Do ya wanna just stop there with them? Maybe I could bring Thistle to meet Nerine. XD I'm taking Vivian out and bringing Thistle back in.))

"Yes, there were a whole bloody lot of them at the house." Nerine snapped on the phone, agitated. "Around five perhaps. Yes, I almost had my head ripped off." She glanced around the park, checking to see whether there was anyone around. When she found no one, she sighed in relief and returned to starring at the frozen lily pond. "They are getting out of control lately; sooner or later we're gonna have to step in." She paused for a moment before nodding. "Yes, this happened quite a wile ago as well. Okay." She hung up and glared at her phone, contemplating on throwing it in into the frozen pond and knowing full well that she might end up breaking it instead of drowning it. She groaned and said out loud. "I hate my job sometimes."

Sol gasped at the sudden pain on her chest and the blood red stain on the front of her shirt as she held it together. She was knocked down and she watched the boy run off. She turned around, just in time to see Stephen fall to the ground and her eyes widened. Getting up, she skated over to his side, an arm over her chest, and kneeled by him. "Stephen, stephen!" she shook him gently with one hand and then hauled his head into her lap.
She sat there, stroking his hair and staring at him, waiting for him to wake up. "Wake up..." she said quietly, shaking his body again.
Once the newborns were gone, police filled the area as well as people from the ambulances that resided outside. People kept asking Sol what happened but she couldn't answer. She was still waiting for Stephen to wake up. People tried pulling her away from Stephen so that they could get a better look, but she refused and held him close to her. The entire time, her arm was hiding her chest, which was bleeding thanks to the newborn.
Everyone noticed this, so eventually they convinced Sol that she wouldn't be separated from Stephen, and that she needed medical attention immediately. It didn't take long to get to the hospital. It smelled awful and Sol held her breath most of the time. She didn't want to freak out and attack someone. They ushered her into a hospital room, and they laid stephen on the bed in there. Sol took a seat on his bed by his side against the doctors' wishes. They were left alone.
Sol stared at Stephen's face and she couldn't help but feel bad. Was this her fault? Well, of course not. All these newborns came out of nowhere, and they most definitely were decreasing Rhyolite population. Sol looked up as the tv news reporter started his story about the death rate increase over the last few weeks. Her stomach did flip flops as she watched videos - caught on tape! of newborns attacking. The videos were very brief and blurry because of the panic, therefore it couldn't be suspected that the newborns were vampires.
Sol was relieved that the news reporter classified these people as mass murderers. She then turned her attention back to Stephen just as their doctor walked in. He was the same doctor that treated the man that was turning when he was with Aimee and Quill. He was one of the few doctors who knew about vampires, and he wasn't afraid. He treated vampires like normal people after he had studied their body structures. "Soliara Alexander and Stephen Blackwood." He said, nodding to the two. He looked at Stephen's unconscious body. "Let me take a look at him." Sol leaned over him protectively and shook her head no. The doctor smiled kindly. "I know about your kind. The government had me here to keep you guys undercover so no one would know about vampires. I just need to see if anything vital is wrong with him." His explanation worked on the vampiress, for she moved back some so he could take a look at Stephen. "He's completely intact." He said, finally. "You though..." He got out his supplies used for bandaging. "There's a nurse that can do this, if you wish." he said, "She doesn't know about vampires, but human and vampire injuries look the same." he said. "Do you want to change roo-" "no." Sol cut him off immediately once she realized what he was going to ask her. She didn't want to leave Stephen's side.
The doctor nodded his head in understanding and set the bandages down. "I'll get the nurse." he said. He left, then soon returned with the nurse. He stepped out and the nurse instructed for Sol to take of her shirt, as well as her bra. Sol turned so that she wasn't facing Stephen. However, she was sitting near the middle of his torso, and he was propped up on the bed. So it was unsure what he would be able to see if he woke up. (hinthint XD) Sol slid off her shirt and winced at the amount of blood that was on it. her bra was cut up as well as her shirt and was also bloody. She took off her bra as well and let nurse treat her.

Kolian sniffled and slowly sat up. She was sad by this, but Rune was right. She didn't say anything as she got to her feet. She looked at Rune as he pulled splinters out and she hung her head. Hugging herself, she began walking back home. Lionel. Just a while ago they were sitting on the couch, him lecturing her about going out in her condition. She didn't know if he was dead or not, but if he was she wished she could've told him one last time before he died that she loved him.
As Kolian trudged on home she kept a sharp ear open so that she could listen for his voice, maybe. She wished to hear it again, calling her name so she could dart off. The rain kept pouring down, and if she wasn't a vampire she'd probably be sick.
