Lionel was watching Kolian's face carefully. When she next spoke about liking his hair, he stiffened. Her voice was no longer hers. It was cold...and bitingly hostile. Lionel frowned and clenched a fist, not liking how this was turning out. "Oh?" Wren turned to face Kolian and she smirked. "Is that so? Well, Lionel. I didn't know that you had this many fans of your hair. Maybe I should sign up too." she said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Lionel shrugged and said. "Whatever you want, Wren. Where are you staying?" He didn't really want Wren to leave; he needed to catch up with his old friend, but for Kolian's sake, that could wait.

"Some hotel around here." Wren shrugged. "I forgot its name. Anyways, I have to run. Sable's probably waiting for me. I'll catch you two later." She smiled sadistically at the last word and ran off. Lionel could hear her laughing callously as she left. Once Wren was gone, Lionel slowly turned to look at Kolian and he said softly. "Little vampire?"

Kolian heard Wren's footsteps as the demon walked off. The awful cackling was hers. The stupid evil girl. Kolian started to shake when she left. "Little vampire?" Kolian felt like a knife had been stabbed into her chest and was now being twisted. She didn't speak. Kolian stood.
Suddenly, she was taking in sharp, quick breaths as if she were going to die any second. She opened the door to the Lyons house and tears pours from her eyes. How could he? How could she?
Kolian cried, tears staining her cheeks and flowing freely. Her eyes were hidden by a shadow her hair cast over her eyes. Kolian went inside, trying to get away. She was supposed to beat up her pillow, but she didn't even make it to her bedroom. Kolian collapsed and fell to her knees in the livingroom she sat there crying, and she slowly pulled her knees to hug against her chest. Why did she feel so torn up?

"Shit." Lionel muttered as Kolian turned away from him and went into the house. He sat there, frozen for a moment; his mind a whirl. The first thing he did was to pull out his cellphone and he speed dialed Rune's number. After two rings, Rune's voice came on the line. "Lionel?" he asked, surprised. "Your sister is here." Lionel said flatly, getting right to the point. "Get your butt here, pronto." The last thing he expected was Rune's reaction. Rune went silent. Back in the Aurora house, Rune had stiffened and gripped his cellphone hard. "...I'll be there." He hung up.

"Damn." Lionel growled, shooting up from the bench and going into the house. He followed Kolian's sobs and he saw her crying in the living room. He felt pained and if he could, he would have banged his head on the wall this very moment. He sat down next to her and touched her shoulder. "Kolian...?"

Kolian had her face buried in her arms by the time Lionel touched her shoulder. Kolian cried more, and moved her shoulder away, but only slightly to show that she as indeed frustrated with him, but no to the point where she hated him. Kolian still loved Lionel very much, but she was just mad at him at the moment. Kolian sniffled some more, unable to calm her hysterical sobs.
For once in her life she desperately wished Rune has been there. She wished that Rune couldve led his sister away from them so that she could be with Lionel. Alone. A while ago Kolian had been smiling, her eyes shining while she laid in Lionel's lap. Now she was crying. She couldn't make it to her bedroom so here she was, in the middle of the livingroom just crying. She didn't understand what that girl had done to her, but she knew that she disk like it. She didn't want that hatred to drip from her words when she spoke, she just wanted to lay thee with Lionel.
Kolian wanted to talk with him forever without being disturbed by some girl who was ten times more beautiful than Kolian could ever be. A girl who could make Lionel blush, and who was clearly... Better.

They are folks who obviously oppose the government. x3 Let's just say that they are part of another coven somewhere far in California and that they came to Rhyolite to visit Rune and take off again.

Lionel felt hurt when Kolian moved away from him and he was about to wallow in despair when the front door was slammed open and Rune came in. He didn't come alone though; Mit and Air were with him. The two animals bounded into the house and into the living room, soon settling down by the couch. Rune stalked into the room, his face thunderous. Lionel felt shocked just by looking at him. Rune had never looked like that before.

"I thought she was dead." Rune's voice was flat. It didn't sounded as though it belonged to him at all. "I suppose Sable is alive too. What the hell was she doing here?" he spat angrily and glared at Lionel as though it was his fault. "And how does she know you?" "We met in Italy." Lionel growled. "In a gallery. Apparently, her brother liked art."

"That's all?" Rune repeated, gritting his teeth. Trust these two to have actually met each other. She must have taken a liking to Lionel once. It was a small world after all. "What did she do? Did she go all Queen Nasty on you both?" When Lionel nodded and added "On Kolian mostly" Rune let out an angry shout that startled all of them and kicked the sofa angrily. Trust Wren to show up here. "I thought she was dead! I thought everyone died after six hundred years. She left the house with Sable before I got kicked out. How can she be here now?! It's stupid!" He collapsed onto the sofa, fuming.

James laughed as he saw the girl blush. It was cute. He was debating wether to go over and introduce himself or just let her continue sketching. Continue sketching. Maybe she was sketching him. Maybe it was a good sketch. Rashel's sketches had always been so sloppy, even though it had taken her a million hours to finish sketching his profile.
His laughter turned to an expression of horror as he watched a streak of a person's hair race down the street. In broad daylight for god's sake! "Oh shit." he cursed and got up quickly. By then, the newborn had gotten to the girl sketching and launched itself at her. "Watch out!" he roared, darting toward the girl to help.

Sol had ducked her head again and was drawing slower this time. She took care to shade in the background as well as James's body. Something in her head shouted, make him perfect, he already looks perfect. Her thoughts were sliced in half as a voice shouted towards her, "Watch out!" Soliara looked up just in time to be tackled aside by a vampire. She gasped. This one was definitely a newborn. She could tell because of the mark near the neck, however, this one wasn't the one that had bitten Rune.
Sol would have shrieked but she was filled with terror, this one was stronger that the one she had fought alongside Rune. She relied on instincts and kicked the Newborn in the stomach, sending it tumbling back. The kick was a good one, but not strong enough for someone to suspect her as a vampire. Out in public, Sol was always more cautious. With the vampire torn off her, Sol felt a bit of blood run down her shoulder. She winced and put her hand over the wound.
the vampire had dug it's fingernails deep into her shoulder, and when Sol kicked it off, it had torn a gash in her shoulder. Sol was caught up in her shoulder wound, that she didn't see the newborn scramble to it's feet and snarl angrily. Such an animal. Sol was not going to kill anything, but her eyes widened in horror as it bolted at her again. Get up! her mind screamed, her legs wouldn't move.

Kolian continued crying, even as Rune came in. A few times as he talked she flinched. He was scaring her. She wanted him to turn around, pick up a knife and go out after that girl. Why did she feel this way? She hated these thoughts that threatened her mind, and she didn't want anymore of them.
Kolian sniffled, and soon she was calming down. She felt so weak. Letting go of her legs, she stretched them out slightly and found herself leaning against Lionel, but she refused to look up. She could still hear his words in her head and they still hurt her. She hugged herself and looked up only at the animals. The kitten was cute, and new. She had not seen it before. Mit, she had seen once, she believed.

"Tell me that you're not going to go after her." Lionel said dryly, placing a hand on Kolian's head. His hand was still there as he continued. "She'll probably hang you up before eating you." Lionel didn't know Wren very well, but he knew that mad ideas might pop up in her sadistic head. Already he could predict about what might happen if Wren ever came across optimists. She'll kill them. he thought dryly.

"No." Rune said flatly. "I won't do anything. Knowing her, she'll probably find me anyway. Your girlfriend there looks traumatized. Do you hate her Kolian?" he asked, feeling as though he already knew the answer but he wanted to hear it from her mouth. Wren's nasty, callous nature wasn't exactly on the high scale of the 'Good qualities of a friend' list. Sadistic people like Wren repelled cheerful people like Kolian. How Lionel fell in love with Kolian in the first place was something Rune could never understand.

Kolian silently wiped her eyes with her sleeves. "Yes." her voice was weak as she was, as she responded to Rune's question. Kolian didn't know why she hated her, she just... did. It was a strange thing. The girl had not done anything to Kolian and yet she had this serious hate for the girl.
Kolian tugged at her sleeves a bit, not speaking another word as she leaned on Lionel's shoulder. His hand on her head was somewhat comforting, and she was kind of glad it was there. She wiped her eyes again and slowly looked up at Rune. He was a complete angel compared to that girl. Her eyes cast away again and she closed them. Did she hate Wren just because she was ten times more beautiful than Kolian could ever be? Did she hate her because Wren knew Lionel longer? Kolian couldn't understand herself and it drove her crazy.
She hated Wren no doubt. Hated her to heck, and yet she couldn't figure out a single reason why. Maybe, maybe it was that look in her eyes, that taunting laughter in her eyes when she saw Kolian writhing with jealousy. That was it. That was what she hated most about the girl. She enjoyed making Kolian mad.

((James: *snort* you wish, woman.
Me: James don't be rude. -pokes James in the nose-
James: ow.))

Somewhere in the back or James' mind he thought 'Damn, that girl packs a punch if she knocked the newborn.' but he shoved it back to his head and focused on the issue at hand.
James hit the newborn with full force. The vampire screamed in rage, clawing at James' back. It stung, but James caught he newborns flying fist with his hand. James dodged the vampires punches, though caught a few in his stomach and managed to rotate his body away, twisting the vampire away and into the air. The newborn spun in mid air and landed back on it's feet. 'I could really use Aimee and Quill right now!' James thought. He glanced back at the girl. Dammit, she was hurt. Hopefully the vampire didn't bite her and those were just nail marks like James' injuries. "Don't just sit there," he snapped, eyes flashing. "Move!" he didn't mean to be harsh but the newborn really was packing a punch here.
Alright. First priority--get the newborn away from the crowd. How? James had no idea. James grabbed the newborn by the shoulders and slammed her into the tree. The newborn shrieked in rage.
He noticed that there wasn't much of a crowd. Luckily it only had a few people on the street. Those who were didn't get a good look at the newborn or James, seeing as the both of them were a blur of movement. The newborn's eyes flashed with hunger and turned to the girl. It snarled, teeth bared in a frightening grimace.
"Oh no you don't." James easily slid in-between the newborn and the girl.

Rune nodded. It was expected. Wren trailed a hateful aura around her everywhere she went. If anyone were to shove the word 'I hate you' in her face, she would immediately reply with a smart assed remark or snort. She made it a point to be hateful to anyone that she disliked. "And now, another name to add to the 'I hate Wren Lasseur circle.'" Rune said dryly, leaning back against the sofa but his anger was dying away to be replaced by outrage.

"What about you Rune?" Lionel asked and Rune turned to look at him, puzzled. "Do you hate your sister?" Rune was silent for a moment and he looked down. As though sensing his distress, the ginger cat leaped up from the floor and hopped onto Rune's lap, settling down and purring softly. It took a while for Rune to answer. He hated her alright, but there were rare times when she had actually been nice, showed that she loved him and was also fond of him. Overall, it was a love hate relationship between the two of them.

"Let's just say that I ninety percent hate her." Rune replied. "And Kolian, uh, just so you know, my sister's a sadistic little bitch that just loves tormenting people like you. I don't think she has any intention of taking Lionel away from you or else she would have done more than just taunt." He ignored Lionel's snort and continued. "This might seem a bit weird, but do you think my sister has a heart underneath all that?"

It was a question that he had asked many that knew or encountered her, and most of the time he had received different answers.

Sol was watching, stunned. How could this boy fight the vampire like that? To any passerby, her expression of horror and shock could have been any normal human's. "Don't just sit there, Move!" he shouted at her. Sol, being the sensitive thing she was, was kind of hurt by his words. She did move, as he said, her legs didn't fail her and she was able to get away, at least as far away without completely abandoning James.
The newborn was crazed. Sol backed away still, when the vampire turned on her. James stepped in between them and Sol trembled. That face on the creature... Her eyes were wide with fear as they had been when the other newborn attacked Rune. The newborn gave up and snarled, darting away. Sol, still in shock remembered she should act like a human. Sol was the best actress in the world probably. "What... what was... that?" She whispered, her hand now stained with her own blood. She was still trembling, but that wasn't her acting. She had dropped the sketchbook by the tree, and it had been unharmed. Sol looked at the nasty wound as it gushed blood, then suddenly she realized something. James was /bleeding/ the human was bleeding! She was shocked to find she wasn't attacking him, but she felt more dizzy and weak than attacking.
Sol fell to her knees. She couldn't drink now, her shoulder hurt like crazy, and this handsome boy had saved her life. there was no way she was going to drink from him... and she didn't. She was surprised by her will not to hurt him, though she didn't let it show.

Kolian blushed slightly and continued not to look at Rune. That was comforting, at least the girl wasn't trying to take Lionel. Kolian seemed to relax, and it was visible as she did so. Did Wren have a heart? Kolian took in a deep controlled breath and then let it out. She was calm now, she felt better. she thought about what she had seen, about Wren. She thought about how the girl looked, the girl's eyes, and how she treated Lionel.
"Yes." she said stiffly, suddenly tensing again. "Not towards me though." she said, her voice was flat, and thick with emotion to show how tense she was. "towards Lionel, she has a heart." She said. She closed her mouth again to let the words sink in, and slowly, she relaxed again in Lionel's arms. She was glad that she could finally relax again. Just talking about Wren made her tense.

"Huh." Rune grunted uninterestedly. Of course Wren couldn't give a shit about Kolian. He raised an eyebrow when Kolian mentioned that she did have a heart towards Lionel. "Lionel. How the hell did you even make friends with her in the first place? You know how she is." All Lionel did was shrug. "Dunno. We started chatting in the art gallery. i just got lucky." he said, not wanting to relieve the memory. Rune smirked. "I'm sure she added a swear word or two." Rune said dryly and Lionel nodded. "I don't want to get into that, please." he replied, his voice as dry as Rune's.

The both of them noticed that Kolian had relaxed when Rune said that Wren wasn't trying to steal Lionel away; it was just her being sadistic. "She wasn't like this six hundred years ago." Rune muttered under his breath and got up, holding the cat in his arms. "Don't worry about Wren. She might like hurting you, Kolian, but she never hurts her friends. Don't worry about Lionel too- worry about how you're going to cope with her for the next few days before she leaves." He left the room; Mit scrambling to its paws and following him. The loud slam of the front door could be heard as Rune left the house.

"Well." Lionel snorted. "That was interesting."

James relaxed his stance as the newborn went away. He sighed in relief and shifted his muscles in his back. He winced, hissing in pain. Those cuts really stung. His shirt was ripped in the back, though he really couldn't care less.
"What... what was... that?"
James looked back at the girl. She was trembling. Still in hunter mode, James shifted his eyes around as if looking to see if the vampire would return again. He suddenly spotted the sketch book by the tree and went over to retrieve it.
"That," he groaned as he bent down. He'd have to get Aimee to patch up his cuts later. "was a monster." he said completely serious.
He brushed off the wood chips and dirt on the book, and was going to give it back but his own face stared back at him from the sketch book.
It was a remarkable picture. Such likeness it was almost lifelike. It was James on the bench, looking almost as dangerous as ever. Do I really look that brooding? James wondered, looking at the picture then at the girl who drew it. Well I got my dad to thank for that.
"uh, here." James said, walking over to the girl and handing her her sketchbook. "That's an amazing picture by the way." he smirked. His eyes caught her wound on her shoulder and he frowned. "You should get that looked at, you know."

Kolian said nothing and just nodded her head towards Rune as he left. She sat there for a while with Lionel, then her eyes flickered up to meet his. They were sad, and hurt. "I am only your girlfriend if Wren would like to think of it like that?" she looked at him, repeating most of his quote and turning it into her question as she looked at him. That was the main thing that had been bothering her.
"So... if she decides I'm not your girlfriend then I'm not?" Kolian tugged at her sleeves and looked down at them. I thought you loved me. was written all over her face, but she refused to show her face to Lionel at the moment. If he caught a glimpse of her eyes and face he most likely would know what she had been thinking.
Kolian didn't move from his arms, and instead stayed there. It was the most comforting place for her to be and even though she was a bit upset with him, she couldn't help but know that he was the only person she could go to at the moment.

A monster. Hm. So he thought all vampires were monsters or just that one? She watched him go over and pick up the sketchbook. "You're hurt..." she said quietly. She took the sketchbook back and nodded, "Thank you." she looked up at him. He was even more attractive up close. When he mentioned her shoulder she uncovered it with her hand, which was now bloody as well. "It's okay... I've been hit with worse things." she said quietly. She sounded like a human who had just been attacked by another human, as if she didn't understand the wound. She looked up at James. "You saved my life." she said softly, then smiled one of her bright attractive smiles.
"Let me help you clean your wounds.." she suggested, "It's the least I could do." she said. There was a small infirmary not too far from here. It wasn't a hospital, but more of just a place on the side that could help people close by. She kept her hand over her shoulder to try and get it to stop bleeding while she held the sketchbook in the other hand. "Oh.. and I'm sorry, if you're offended, for sketching you without permission." Usually Sol asked permission, but for some reason when she looked at him, his position was too perfect to mess up for her to ask. She looked down at the drawing and blushed slightly to find out it wasn't completely done. she would have liked to have finished it, but that vampire had attacked.
